Inscription on the first flyleaf of the bible:

"This Bible was the property of Mr. John Blair of the Parish of Dunboe County Londonderry Ireland and was sent as a present to his Sonin law Samuel Hyndman of Mauch Chunk Penna
Anno Domini 1852"

Speculation is that this inscription was written by Samuel Hyndman, the son-in-law, after having received the Bible. On a loose paper found in the Bible on is written:

"John Cunningham['s] Book
Ballywilderck
AD Oct 19th 1851
"

See John Cunningham's inscription

Samuel and Rebecca were married in Ballywildrick in 1833 and immigrated to Mauch Chunk in 1839. Elizabeth (Blair) Cunningham and her husband remained in Ireland but their son John with his bride came to Mauch Chunk in 1852, most likely carrying the Bible with him.
