16. Martha Harrison Lines

16. Martha Harrison Lines

"Mat" could be Mar." Mat. Harrison Lines (or Lyons). There was a James Milton Line, 1849 to 1931 who lived in Mauch Chunk (son of Samuel & Elizabeth Line). About 1873 James M. married a woman named Martha (maiden name not known right now), 1846 to 1927. Their 2nd child was Harry M. Line, born 1878, died 1973. I had thought the M. in his name stood for "Milton", same as his father's middle name. But maybe it stood for "Mathew". The "Martha Lyons" you have in the Index column fits in as his mother. This was an Upper Chunk family, James Milton Line appears in the 1850 through 1930 censuses. Harry M. only appears in 1880 and 1900, after that he was gone from Chunk. He was a railroad pay clerk in 1900, the type of job which may have led him elsewhere. (Jack Sterling)
