22. Baby Hodge

Perhaps a child of Dr. Hodge #4. J. Aspinwall Hodge had four known sons and no known daughters; so if this is a child of his, it could be a son. Male children were often put in dresses and allowed to have their hair grow long. His son James was born 9 March 1861, and since there is no tax stamp on the photograph might indicate that this photo was taken before Aug 1864 when the tax went into effect making the child (if it is indeed James) no older than three years five months.
